    3. Miss Peggy Frances PAGE [photo] and Arvie GOAD were united in marriage in double-ring ceremony Wed morning (25th) at 10 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents, Mr & Mrs Buford PAGE. Pansy PAGE served as maid of honor (sister), married by Rev. Bennett MASTERS of Gamaliel. Wanda RAY was bridesmaid, Miss Faye UNDERWOOD of Louisville carried the rings. Arnold GOAD, bro of the groom was best man. Honeymoon to Cumberland Falls, will reside at Gamaliel; groom employed by the Gamaliel Bank. Services held for soldier- PFC James W SAVAGE [photo]. 2 o'clock Saturday, T'ville Church of Christ; body to arrive this day; burial in Oak Hill Cemetery after services by Bro C. D. TIDWELL. Had attended T'ville High, graduated May 1942. Inducted 19 Apr 1943 at age 19; received training at Camp Polk LA with 9th Armored Infantry Batt. Went overseas Dec 1943. Killed in action in France Nov 1944.Survived by mother, Mrs. Mary L. SAVAGE; two sisters, Dimple SAVAGE & Mrs. Ruby BUTLER. David KEY, age 91, dies at home of son. Services held Mon at 2 pm at Old Rocky Hill Baptist Church, by Bro. A B MURPHY, burial church cemetery. Born in TN 1858. He was among the original 18 organizing members of Mt. Zion Church in Allen Co. Wife deceased - she among the original members also. Later united with White Oak Ridge Baptist church. Wife was Kitty Ann WEBB; they had 2 children - Jim of Bowling Green (where he lived) & Ollie KEY of Gamaliel. Daughter was Jane WALDEN who died sometime ago; 20 great-grandchildren. Also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Tilda GREGORY & Miss Jane KEY (102 yrs old); two brothers - Calvin & Henry. Services for Mrs Loretta BUTLER who died at her home Monday, 23 May 1949; had suffered a stroke Sunday morning. Widow of John T BUTLER, Sr. She was 78; had been in ill health for several yrs. Four sons and 4 daughters survive. Two daughters, Mrs F A BOWMAN and Mrs Cecil HALE preceded her in death several years ago. Surviving children are: Luther, Buford, Huston & John T Jr, Mrs Jimmie SHEFFIELD, Mrs Clyde LOVE & Mrs Tina BUTLER, all of T'ville & Mr Ottie EUBANK of Vine Grove; 40 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. She was oldest child of Jordan & Mary STRODE & the first of 7 to pass away. Member Poplar Log Baptist Church. Services Tues, 24 May, 3 pm, J H SWANN conducted services. Laura Jane Walden MILBY died, age 52, at her home in Monroe Co on 22 May. Born 12 Dec 1896. Joined Mt Hermon Church 1934; dau of Smith & Turner WALDEN. Survived by 7 children: Omer Cliton TOOLEY of Owsensboro, John Black TOOLEY of T'ville, Maxine KLINESTEKER of Burnips Michigan, Ida Lee TOOLEY (lived at home), Gus TOOLEY (at home), Billy Marshall MILBY of Indianapolis, Odella MILBY, at home; two sisters - Mrs Jack HAMMER & Mrs Evie DUBREE of IL. Half- sister: Mrs Elijah HAMMER. 2 brothers - Jeff & Omer WALDEN. 4 half-bros: Fonas, Kirk, Kerry & Enoch WALDEN. 3 children preceded her in death. No burial information. Parolees released by the Secretary of State last week included Ernest DECKARD, 25, for house breaking, two years, Aug 1948 and David GAITHER, 20, housebreaking, 2 yrs, Aug 1948. Local men. Special meeting at Oak Hill Cemetery, has new director; those interested in upkeep included L K YOKLEY, O C LANDRUM. J E MARTIN was director, deceased. 4 Monroe Co students receive degrees from Western KY State College - Gene R BURKS of Mt Hermon, Arley E DENHAM of T'ville; James E GILLENWATER, formerly of T'ville (now Glasgow), Don Wallace MILLER of T'ville & J Clayton RICH of Flippin. 4 graduate from Lindsey Wilson School: Benton BOWMAN, Charlie REEVES, Charles EATON & William C WALDEN, all of T'ville. High winds wreck property in county - Late last Saturday. Home of Cass & Mary PETETT & Emma BIGGERSTAFF on Ward's Branch lifted from foundation, strewn over hillside. Mr. PETETT carried abt 50 feet & trapped under pile of debris, 10 stitches to his head, broken ribs. Mary PETETT tried to get out of bed; a safe was thrown across the room knocking her unconscous; remembers nothing until she was rescued. Mrs. Emma BIGGERSTAFF taken to Samson Hospital in Glasgow; serious condition. Fayette PITCOCK, Joe ROSS, S B GETTINGS , W J HEAD, Price KIRKPATRICK & Fred PINCKLEY lost barns. Denton & Dave WHITE lost barns. Old KIRKPATRICK place built in the last part of the 18th century and oldest residence south of the Green River practically destroyed. Property of Liza HOLLINSWORTH & Sallie KIRKPATRICK. House had been built by Moses KIRKPATRICK. Also lost a barn, one damaged. O C LANDRUM, C E HURD & Fred COE of Turkey Neck Ben lost barns; Tom FINLEY lost a barn. Bethel HARLAN lost 2 barns. Sidney STANFORD's barn near Gamaliel torn away. Home of Clurie ADAMS & Mrs Dora KEYS, south of T'ville, turned over, furniture destroyed. Mrs KEYS had just moved into the home recently, the only home she had ever owned. The last storm struck in Monroe CO 10 May 1933. Trees down, many homes damaged. In Red Boiling Springs TN damages done to a store of Mr. SMITH's; home of James HAGAN partially destroyed.
