    3. This will be concluding the series. Order Book 4, p. 366 - Pension Application for John FOSTER. Applicant states that he is about 69 years old. He enlisted in the Revolutionary War in Albermarle Co VA 15 Feb 1776, enslisting for a period of two years. The company was commanded by Matthew JOIETT in the regimand commanded by Col Wm DANGERFIELD of the Virginia or Contininental Esta blishment. He didn't remember the regiment #. At his discharge the regiment was commanded by Col McCLANAHAN. He continued his service until 4 Mar 1778 when he was discharged by Gen. WASHINGTON at Valley Forge in PA. He has lost his discharge but was in the Battle of Brandywine and various skirmishes. He is a citizen, he is reduced circumstances and stands in need of support. /s/ John FOSTER. There is another statement from the above which gives a little more informaion. He states that he is a cripple - was run over several years ago by a carriage. This accident broke three of his ribs and keeps him from doing manual labor. His family consists of himself, his wife who is about his age - about 6 months younger than he and she also is a cripple for the past 7 years. She is unable to do ordinary house labor. This is the end of the Rev. War book. There were several pages torn out at the back of the book (which I do not have) - perhaps there were other applications on those pages - Sandi Sandi's Puzzlers: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gensoup/gorin/puz.html SCKY Links: http://www.public.asu.edu/~moore/Gorin.html GGP: http://ggpublishing.tripod.com/
