For Barren Co posts next week - Next Monday I'll be starting a series on a historical old church called the Blue Springs Baptist Church. The original book no longer exists so this book covers membership and business from Dec 1844 thru Feb 14, 1900. I will not be going thru meeting by meeting, but will instead cover the members who belonged there with what comments were made; there are references to the church people 1799-Dec 1844. There is a new tool for searching the rootsweb list messages. It's in beta mode right now but usable. It searchs ALL the lists on Rootsweb at once, not just a specific one. This is great if your missing ancestor doesn't have a common name The lists have been around a LONG time and the email address of the poster may not be any good. The search is very rapid - I knew I'd typed a lot over the years (1996 on ...) and when I did a search on my name, it had 29,000 hits. Ouch! I did bring up some of my old posts with an email addy I haven't used for the past 5-6 years and this is likely to happen with others. http://archiver.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/search Charlie has posted the puzzler for the week - thanks for the good response to last week's puzzle. It's easier when you can google for the answer. I don't mind if you do a search for the answer - that's what I am encouraging; many of our quesions can be answered by spending a little time searching! I'll be back tomorrow with the Monroe Co post and not venturing far from home - I had my annual fight with poison ivy and it won! See you tomorrow!
