    1. Monroe Co School Census
    2. Doug Moore
    3. Since there is no existing 1890 census, the school census for the late 1800s is an important substitute database for that census. I have spent a lot of time at my local LDS Family History Center reading the Monroe Co school census on microfilm and wishing that someone would transcribe it for me. A transcription now exists. Dayton Birdwell and Shelta Shrum have prepared a book containing Monroe Co, KY, school census records from the 1880s and 1890s along with some other material from that time period.
