William Hendrick to Polly Mansfield, bond on 16 Feb 1818 with consent of her father, Thomas Mansfield. Married in Barren County that month by William Warder. This is according to Martha Powell Harrison's Barren County marriage book, published by Sandi Gorin. >This Mary and William >are repeatedly listed as the parents of Hezekiah Hendrick, one of my greats. >I've replied to authors of messages making this claim but have received few >replies and the ones I have received didn't address the question, which is >this: what makes those making this claim sure this William and Polly are the >William and Mary that had Hezekiah? If they are, wonderful, but as of yet >I've seen no evidence of it. William Hendricks shows up in the 1820 Barren County census with one son and one daughter under the age of 10. William Sr. is 26-44; his wife is 16-25. I do not find William in the 1830 Barren County census which could help confirm that he did move his family to Mississippi. Given the ages you have for Hezekiah and William Henry, there should be two males under 10 in the 1820 household if Hezekiah belongs to this family. Is there any other evidence that the William Hendricks in Barren County is also the William Hendricks in Mississippi? This is not my line. Charlie
