Back on 17 Dec 1977 I posted to this list information on a Pioneer Certificate (a program that was formerly done by the South Central KY Historical and Genealogical Society.) One of the certificates that was issued was for Elzia ARTERBURN and was submitted by Charles Arterburn. He has written me and would like to make some corrections/additions to his original application which is shown below: ELZIA ARTERBURN b 1801 Shenandoah Co VA; d July 1881Flippin, Monroe, KY; md Washington Co TN to Elizabeth DOUGLASS. He the son of James Arterburn and Mary ELZIA. Settled in Monroe Co by 2 Apr 1833, first appearing on 1834 deed and on 1840 census. His wife b 1802 TN; d March 30, 1860, daughter of John and Elizabeth DOUGLASS. Their children: Rhoda Isabelle James Henderson John Douglas Jane Elizabeth William Monroe Thomas Elijah Louisa Julia Ann Samuel Patten b 1 Oct 1844 Monroe Co; d 26 Oct 1922 Flippin; md Frances A.J. "Julia" THOMASSON 15 Nov 1865 in Monroe Co. Their son: Samuel A.O. "Gus" Arterburn b 5 Dec 1882 Monroe Co; d 11 Mar 1952 same; md 22 Nov 1901 same Lura Catherine TURNER. Their son: Raymond G Arterburn - no data - and his son the submitter.
