    3. Births: May 30 - Mr & Mrs Ernest MARTIN; a baby girl, Martha Ann. May 29: to Mr & Mrs Alfvin Hulet STRODE - a boy, Carlie Thomas. May 25: To Mr & Mrs Archie Lovell BRYANT, a boy, Robert Lee. May 25: to Mr & Mrs Homer STOCKTON a boy, John Thomas. May 23: to Mr & Mrs Arlie Denton SPEAR a baby boy. May 23: To Mr & Mrs Quentin Morris MLLER, a boy John Morris. Fire which started near a chimney damaged the home of Mr & Mrs Frank RICHARDSON Monday morning. Most of the damage was from the water and not the fire; house doomed for destruction. Junior PICKERELL, 2-year old son of Mr & Mrs Maurice PICKERELL is recovering from painful burns received Tues of last week when he fell into a pan of hot starch. Child was taken to the hospital; burns were not extensive but were deep. Last Thurs Mrs Rad GERALDS, the former Ollie May CRAWFORD, died. She had been sick for some months; left a husband and no children. Brothers of the deceased are Buford CRAWFORD of Radure; sisters are Mrs. Tim DODSON, Mrs Bedford DODSON, Mrs. Ray JACKSON and Mrs Austin SPROWL, all of Monroe Co. Services were held at the home with burial in Center Point Cemetery. She was 33 yrs old. June 5 in Glasgow was the wedding of Miss Louise WHITE, dau of Mr & Mrs H T WHITE of T'ville to Cass NAPIER of Celina TN. The couple left for Louisville where they will live. He is employed in a defense industry in Louisville. Miss Carline DAVIS & David TURNER were married Sat, 29 May in Glasgow. She is the dau of Mr & Mrs Carl DAVIS and he the son of Mr & Mrs Tom TURNER, all of Fountain Run. Marriages: May 18: Reva BRYANT, dau of Mr & Mrs Harlie BRYANT of Summer Shade to Fred WRIGHT, son of Mr & Mrs Sam WRIGHT. May 29: Leva (? ink smeared on paper) SMITH, dau of Mr & Mrs Clarence SMITH of Fountain Run to Fay MARTIN, son of Mr & Mrs Tom MARTIN of Mt Hermon. June 4: Reva EMMERT dau of Mr & Mrs Herbert EMMERT of T'ville to Cecil CAIN, son of Mr & Mrs Thomas CAIN of Hestand. June 7: Lovie HAMMER dau of Mr & Mrs Bill HAMMER of T'ville to Cpl. Wayne TURNER, son of Mr. Charlie TURNER of Charlestown IN. Maurice THOMPSON, son of Mr & Mrs E N THOMPSON is believed to be recovering satisfactorily from a severe injury received Sat when he was thrown by a mule. He was unconscious for some time and it was first reported his neck was broken. He is now conscious but suffering much. His brother is Pvt Harold THOMPSON who has asked for a military leave to be with his brother. The accident occcured in a barn on their farm; it is thought that his head hit a manger or that the mule ran over him after throwing him from the saddle. Homer BASKET was a witness but was too far away to see what happened. Miss Inelle WILLIAMS & Sgt. Curtis MURPHY were married at the residence of Rev. S L PRUITT in T'ville. He is the son of Mr & Mrs O C MURPHY of Fountain Run. She is the dau of Mr & Mrs T J WILLIAMS of Mt Hermon. He is stationed at Camp Beale CA; she is expected to join him. Jack PAGE died in Army service. He was a private, son of Cal & Alice PAGE of T'ville. Burial will be at Skaggs Creek with Revs J H SWANN & S L PRUITT officiating. He was 37 years old, leaves a widow who is the former Viola RUSSELL. He is also survived by three brothers & 2 sisters: Bronnie, Estie and Buford PAGE, all of Monroe Co and Mrs Wade RICH and Orpha HUMES of T'ville. He had only been in the Army 3 mos. In the same camp is Pvt Clarence PAGE, a nephew, who will accompany the body back. Mrs Pauline Hays CLAYTON has returned home from a month vacation at J Z CLAYTON's at Golden Co. Her husband is in service in Alaska. John LYON, African veteran wears silver star; was hospitilized; was in 3 major battles. He was blown out of a fox hole, received shrapnel fragment in his back. He was in a hospital in Oran, Africa and then sent to the States. On June 10th he is expected back east to be assigned to light duties or honorably discharged. William Henry SHARP, 57, died suddenly Thurs, 27 May at his home in the Sulphur Lick community. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Nora STONE SHARP and six children: Basil of Dallas TX; Payton of Glasgow; Mrs Cleo SHAW of Horse Cave; Orval, Jesse and Atticus, at home. He also leaves a sister, Mrs Bob FRANKUM of Beech Grove and three brothers: John Sam and Charlie of Glasgow and Sephen of Lecta. Services by Rev F V HARWOOD, burial in family cemetery. He had moved from Glasgow to Monroe Co just a short time ago. Deaths of infants: Jackie William MOODY, 2 weeks old, son of Davie & Clovia SEWELL MOODY, ill less than 48 hours. Burial was at the Flippin Cemetery where rest the remains of Susan MOODY and Jackie Ned MOODY. He was an only child. Sick only a few hours was Ellis Fowler WADDELL, 2 yr old son of Mr and Mrs L B WADDELL of Vernon who died Fri afternoon. Burial at the SAVAGE Cemetery; parents and one brother, Boyd (age 10) survive.
