I'll answer this to the list. There was only one Wakefield listed in the early tax records - William Wakefield who is only shown in 1807. I'm wondering if, when Franklin Gorin, penned the newspaper articles which became Times of Long Ago, his name had been forgotten (1870's). However, his name was Allen M. Wakefield. I cheated and looked ahead in the quarter sessions book! He is not shown on any of the tax records here or in Warren Co (our parent co) so appears to have lived in another county and just served this circuit.
