Just a guess, mind you, but could the original, which looked like death by "tight loving" actually have said "tight lung"?? Asthma? Some other medical condition involving pulmonary failure? As I said, just a guess. Nonetheless, I'd rather think it actually was as transcribed. Maybe there would be an exotic ancestral story after all….
