Do to new information I am trying to find out when James DeSpain (Spain) lived in Cumberland or Monroe Co, KY. James married Margaret Matthews 6 Sep 1807 in Cumberland Co, KY. It is known that this James is in the 1811 Green Co,KY tax list. However it has been learned that there is another James DeSpain in Green County in the 1810s and the two can not be separated. This James Despain (Listed as James Spain.) is in the 1820 Monroe Co, KY census living among his in-laws. By the 1830 census he is in the Shelby Co, TN listed as J. D. Spain. I would like to know if he can be found in Cumberland or Monroe County records for any of the years between 1811 and 1830. Chuck Despain
