Was living in Cumberland Co when applying 26 May 1834, age 74. Born 15 Feb 1760. Enlisted in Wilkes Co GA June 1776. Born in the county or district of Burvin NC. Since the war has lived in TN, then to NC near to Moravian Towns, then to the Adkin River, lived in same state 3 yrs. Then to Lancaster Co SC for 5 years, then to Mercer Co KY for 1 year, then to Cumberland Co, then to White Co TN until 1829, then moved back to Cumberland Co. ** RICHARDSON, George, VA, S 14293. Living in Cumberland Co when applying Dec 1832, age 75. Born Bedford Co VA 1750, lived there until 1798. Moved to TN, then to KY in 1802. Shadrach CLAYWELL provided affidavit that he knew soldier in Bedford Co VA. Filed 12 Dec 1832 when affiant's age was 72. ** ROWE/ROE, William, VA, W3044. Living in Cumberland Co when filing for pension 15 Nov 1820, age 64. enlistede in VA 1776. Children are: Sally, born about 1804; Mary Ann, born abt 1809; Lou Terrill?, born abt 1811; Hiram, born about 1800; and Robert and Joseph C (no dates). Widow's name was Sally TOWLES. They married in Culpeper Co VA 31 Mar 1787. She filed for widow's pension while residing in Russell Co KY 30 Jan 1839, age 70. ** SMITH, Samuel, NC, R9833. Lived in Cumberland Co when applying 12 Dec 1832, age 77. Born Pittsylvania Co VA; enlisted Burke Co NC in 1778. In 1773 moved to Burke Co NC and from there to KY in 1802 or 1804. Children were: John, Nancy and Martin. Widow, Rachel, field for widow's pension 1852, age 85, resided Cumberland Co. They were married 7 Aug 1776. Affadavit of fellow soldier was from Valentine GRIDER/GRYDER made in Cumberland Co 13 Dec 1832. Knew solder in VA. John GRIDER/GRYDER, age 79 of Adair Co KY made similar statement in 1852. ** SEWELL, Joseph, NC, S31354. Made application in Cumberland Co 15 Nov 1832, age 79. Born Elk Ridge, Howard Co MD in 1753.
