A little of this 'n that... If you are are on the KYBIOGRAPHIES and/or KYRESEARCH lists, your posts from me might be delayed. They are "housed" on what is know as List3 and this server has been having some problems. It locks up somehow - a techie term I have no idea of what it means. These two lists are "read-only" lists meaning they do not take queries. With the recent changes in rootsweb, I now have to go to an administrative page and release the messages to go to all of you. Somehow List3 locks up and won't let me (and others) in to do anything. So bear with me please - I've made the posts - they're just behind locked doors right now! Secondly, thanks for all the updates on those of you who are stuck in the winter storm misery. I promise not to complain that it's 26 degrees in beautiful south central KY! Our thoughts and prayers are with you. On the KYRESEARCH list (whenever it gets unstuck!) there are some interesting tips and data coming up in the next few weeks. I'm sharing about some of the speciality mills that existed in the early days of KY and employed a lot of our ancestors, there are some strange mills of which you might not have heard. There is an eerie post on the Black Mariah, one on the first constitution of KY, another one on what was the militia in KY - what was it, what did they do, etc. If you're not on this once-a-week list you can subscribe by sending an email to KYRESEARCH-L-REQUEST@rootsweb.com. Thirdly, I will be going back to Monroe Co on the Tues posts with more of the newspapers. Lastly, thanks for the input on the obituaries I'm posting on the Barren Co board. Please remember something. If it is posted on the Board, it is automatically cross-posted to the Barren Co list here. But, posts to the Barren Co list are NOT cross posted to the board. So, if you have information on something I (or anyone) has posted on the board - no one will see the information on the board if you post it just to the list. It needs to be posted to the board site. Hope I haven't confused you! If you are overwhelmed with the 10 or so obituaries I post almost daily ... let me know and I can switch you to the digest mode of the list so you will get only 1-2 digests a day instead of individual posts. Stay warm! Sandi SCKY Links: http://www.public.asu.edu/~moore/Gorin.html GGP: http://ggpublishing.tripod.com/
