My 4GGrandmother, Annie DOUGLASS TIMBERLAKE, was born in Albemarle Co., VA. She married Joseph TIMBERLAKE, Sr., also of VA. According to family history books, they moved to Cumberland Co., KY around 1795. However, Cumberland Co. was not a county until 1798 and was formed from Green Co. Annie supposedly died around 1815 in Russell Co., KY, according to the books, and is buried there. However, Russell Co. was not a county until 1825 and was formed from Cumberland Co. Joseph is listed in the Cumberland Co., KY census in 1820 and in the 1830 Hart Co., KY census having died there in 1841. Based on KY census maps, would Annie's records be in Green Co. and would her grave actually be in present Russell Co.? She seems to have disappeared with no paper trail.
