Metcalfe Co was formed of course in 1860 and the vital statistics were kept on births for the following years only: 1860, 1861, 1874, 1875, 1876, 1877, 1906, 1907. It included 1,079 births; 238 marriages and 296 deaths ... of which I'm covering the births here. These vitals are only available on microfilm which I transcribed about 10 yrs ago. There are likely errors - ranging from the doctor writing the wrong information to the clerk not being able to read his writing when recording in the big old books, to bad microfilm, to my making a mistake trying to read the clerk's handwriting!
