ROBERT STOCKTON produced a dedimus appointing him a Justice of the Court of Quarter Sessions to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of John HALL; was read, administered oaths and he took his seat. Robert MORE vs Wm STRINGFIELD, cause dismissed with plaintiff paying costs. Jury seated: William MURPHY foreman and Thomas RAGSDALE, John BENNIT, George WATERS, Clabourn HARLOW, Moses COX, Michael HARLOW, Henry MILLER, Hezekiah DAVIDSON, Jacob RIGHT [WRIGHT], William BU___, William RIGHT {WRIGHT], Abraham McCARLEY, John SANDERS Sr, George HIGHTOWER, Thos S___, John BOYD, John ALLEN, Joseph JOLLY, ___ ALLEN, Wm DAVIDSON, Wm ____ AND Zachariah ALLEN. They received their charges and withdrew. Robt HAMILTON vs WM ____ (might be COURTS), discharged & suit dismissed. Grand Jury returned and their presentments were made. Saml KELSOE charged for swearing one oath and Jury dismissed. Henry WALKER paid for 3 days as a witness for the Commonwealth vs Adam BLAKEMAN who was charged with felony in 1800. John KING produced his license and sworn in as a lawyer in Barren Co. Court adjourned until next day. 27 Apr 1802, preent John GARNETT & Wm NEVILL. WILSON vs MIDDLETON - dismissed as agreed. GRIGGS vs BENNETT, same. James SHIELDS vs T MERSHON - on motion by Job TROWBRIDGE, bail, discharged since sheriff did not make a return. William SKAGGS vs John CROW, 3 special pleas. Richd GARNETT vs Isaac CASEY, judgment confessed $34.37 with interest from 1st day of Sept 1801 till paid, execution delayed until the next July court. James SHAW vs Abner BOURNE, case dismissed; each to pay their own costs. John GOODMAN vs G W FLETCHER & John FRANKLIN Sr - special bail required. Joseph LOCK to be brought by the Bailiff ... rest faded out. Released from jail, posted bond with security. Joseph LOCK vs QUARLES on a writ of habeas Corpus; said Lock being arrested by a writ which issued against him as of the said Quarles and it appearing to the Court that Lock was attending on a summons as witness at the time he was arrested thus Lock to be discharged from Cuwstody. James WHITE vs Stephen COLE, case dismissed. Samuel ROUNDTREE & Mary ROUNDTREE (wife) vs the Commonwealth. Sent to Court of Appeals and decision had been reversed. Court adjourned until next day.
