JOHN Hamilton, a fellow soldier, gave deposition on 11 Jan 1834; lived in Adair Co KY; said they knew soldier in NY. Solomon PREWETT, 84 in Cumberland Co made deposition 19 Oct 1833; also knew him in NY. KING, George, VA S31189. Appeared Cumberland Co 2 Jan 1833, age 83. Born Chesapeaks, Northumberland Creek, State of VA 1750. Enlisted in Amelia Co, later enlisted Lunenberg Co VA 1781. After war lived in Henry Co VA; moved to KY 1819. Fanny McCULLOCK made deposition in Cumb. Co 2 Jan 1833, age 63, knew him. MONROE, John, VA W8468. Appeared 9 Oct 1820, age 65. Enlisted in VA; lived in Amherst Co VA. Children were: Fanny, born ca 1790; Mary, born ca 1797; Betsy, born ca 1802; Andrew, born ca 1799 and John, born ca 1805. Widow's name was Rachel - she filed her claim for widow's pension 14 Dec 1839, age 80. Said they were married at Roundhill Creek, Westmoreland Co VA 8 Apr 1781. Fellow soldier Elihu BECK/BUCK made deposition 14 Dec 1839 - knew him in Amherst Co in 1802. He stated that Monroe's children were: Susannah b 21 Feb 1785; Fanny, born 9 Feb 1787; Anna, born 6 Oct 1798 - died 5 Jan 1798?; Lucy born about 30 Oct 1791, died 25 Oct 1793; Sally born abt 9 Sept 1793; Mary, born 18 Apr 1796; Andrew born 21 Jan 1799; Henry? born 23 Aug 1800; Elizabeth born 4 May 1802 and John born 21 July 1804. MORGAN, Morgan [sic]. VA, S31265. Appeared Cumberland Co 18 Feb 1833, age 72. Born Lancaster Co PA 24 Aug 1760. Enlisted Montgomery Co VA Mar 1776. Lived in Montgomery Co befdore war and since Wythe Co VA, Fayette Co KY; moved to KY from VA 1795; moved to Cumberland Co 1802. MAC COUGH/MACCONN, James, VA S36068. Appeared Cumberland Co 9 Mar 1829, age 75. Enlisted in Rockbridge Co VA 1776. PREWETT/PREWITT, Solomon, VA W1315. Appeared Cumberland Co 13 May 1829, age 79. Widow was Mary, born ca 1766. Certified copy of marriage bond was produced. Fellow soldiers, John SCOTT and Charles THURMAN made affadavit 26 Apr 1832 & said they knew him in VA. Also James RADFORD on 9 Oct 1830 - knew him in VA. PIERCE, Francis, VA S14168. Appeared 13 Nov 1832, age 72. Born Caroline Co VA Aug 1760. Enlisted Albemerle or Orange Co VA Jan or Feb 1779. Lived in Caroline Co VA until 10 yrs of age, moved to Orange Co. to KY in 1801 from Wilkes Co NC. to be continued next week with RADFORD.
