I'm sending this back to the list as some here might be able to comment. I found this census record in 1910: 1910 Federal Census: Kentucky, Hart County, Munfordville, District 65, Page 29B household 55/58 Crain, John W. - head, M W 60, MO KY KY, farmer Crain, Susan - wife, F W 53, md34yrs, 11 children/5 living, KY KY KY Crain, Eddie - son, M W 24, single, KY MO KY, farm laborer Crain, Emma - daughter, F W 16, single, KY MO KY Crain, Maxey - son, M W 14, KY MO KY, farm laborer Crain, Birdie E. - daughter, F W 12, KY MO KY Waddle, Estelle L. - granddaughter, F W 6, KY KY KY This might be Melvin's grandmother. According to the 1900 census, John and Susan Crain had a daughter named Millie who was born in Feb 1884, so she would be old enough to be Estelle's mother. Any comments?
