    1. [SCKY] FOUND TOMBSTONE MYSTERY SOLVED
    2. Sandi Gorin
    3. Thanks to the help of Gayle Berry at the Cultural Center, Nancy Bush of Glasgow, Dora Bennett of Barren Co and some detective work , the mystery of the unknown tombstones has just been solved. I found this morning, with the help of the above that the stone for Anna Carol Houchens' stone was wrong. The girl's name was Anita Carol Houchens and the year was wrong by a year. The proper stone is at Beech Grove Cemetery. The two Bush burials are from deaths in Hart Co, but appear to be correct. We didn't make too much progress on the Burgess stone but ... this is when I called Borders Monument thinking that perhaps there used to be, in the 1920-1954 time frame a monument company or carver in the area where the stones were found. In talking to the head of Borders, it seems that these were all incorrectly carved stones and had been borrowed several years ago out of the stack of replaced stones for a function. Many times families will replace old and/or broken stones with new ones or replace those with errors on them. The borrowed stones were then forgotten about and Borders Monument is going to go pick them up. He remembered the names once I read them to him. Knowing that we are always on the look-out for cemeteries; it's interesting when stones appear almost in one's back yard (give or take a mile) and you don't know where they came from. Thanks to those who wrote me and again - a special thanks to Gayle, Nancy, Dora and Martha Harrison who was researching all her records!
