Said he had seen defendant strike the plaintiff and curse at her; heard him threaten her; slap her and pull her hair. Refused to let her go to church. Defendant left home and was gone for days at a time. Had seen plaintiff get a gun and threaten to kill herself. Uncle John TREVITT had told him to come to testify. Deposition of Geo W. COPASS, same time and place. 48 yrs old, lives Barren Co, farmer, knew plaintiff about 40 years and defendant 23-25 years. Same questioning. Mentioned plaintiff's brother Robert and a note she held. Defendant planned to sue on the note; she said she didn't have it and he said she did. She looked in her pocket book and it was gone. Asked Jim (no last name) if he had taken it and he denied it. Saw defendant throwing her things out the door. In neighborhood defendant was known as very mean and cruel to his wife. Copass said he lived 4 miles from the parties and had been summoned to testify. Judgment rendered; plaintiff entitled to the relief sought; to be divorced and restored to all right and privileges of an unmarried woman; also to have possession of all the property claimed and the household and kitchen furniture. She is also granted the care and custody of her 3 children: Andrew England, Ella England and Sarah J. England. Defendant to pay costs of the case. End of a long case!
