    3. Listed below are some of my family veterans with ties to South Central Kentucky.Jenny Lt. Hudson Martin, Revolutionary War, Albemarle County,Va.  Served as paymaster of the Continental Guards atAlbemarle Barracks which were located in Charlottesville, VA.  Albemarle Barracks, which were in use in 1779& 1780, was a prisoner-of-war encampment for 2577 British and 1882 Hessiantroops that were captured at Saratoga, NY in 1777. Lt Martin’s son and grandson,Hudson Martin, Jr. and Dr. Hudson Martin, migrated to Warren and Barren Countyand had many offspring who settled in the area. Warren, Barren, and Allencounty names associated with the family were: Martin, Hawkins, Trigg, Moore, Burke, Starr, Crenshaw, Huffman, Doty,Lawrence, Stone, and Butler.   Pvt. Fielding Butler, War of 1812, Culpepper Co., VA. Served in the Company commanded by Captain Buckmaster, inthe fourth Regiment of Virginia Militia commanded by Lt. Col. H. Beatty. Fieldingwas drafted at Woodville in Culpeper County Virginia, on or about the 10th dayof January 1813, for the term of six months, and continued in actual service insaid war for the term of four months, and procured one Jesse Armstead to servethe remaining two months for which Butler had been drafted.Butler was honorablydischarged at Camp near Fort Norfolk in VA on the 29th day of May A.D.1813.  Fielding and his wife, ElizabethHuffman, moved to Barren County and he drowned in Beaver Creek in 1836.  Barren County descendants included some of the Huffman and Butlers.   Dr. Thomas Walker, Castle Hills, Keswick, Albemarle Co.,VA.  Walker was appointed by his friend, Geo. Washington, to serve as Major  and commissary general during the French and Indian War.    He is wellknown in Kentucky history for his very early explorations into the area. Someof his descendants migrated to Barren County, including those of Lt. HudsonMartin.
