I've never been able to pin down who the Leach family was that married their daughters, Sarah "Nancy" and Elizabeth, to two of Charles Carter's sons, Henry born 1802 and Hiram born 1809. The Leach family seems to have vanished from the area between the 1850-1860 census. I looked all over Tennessee because a James Leach b. abt 1770-1780 was enumerated in Jackson Co, TN in 1830 and 1840 in Dist 6. The Carter men and their Leach brides stayed in what later became Clay Co, TN. I've seen Leach households in various later censuses in Monroe Co., KY and am hoping someone knows of the kinship between the Leaches and Carters or anything about them.
