I am seeking information about a relationship between William Carlisle, Revolutionary pensioner who died in Jackson County, Tennessee in 1843 and Ellen Carlisle Campbell? Ellen is said to have lived in Green County and William in his 1833 pension application mentions unnamed sisters in Kentucky. 1. Can anyone document residence of Enos and Ellen Carlisle Campbell in Green County cir. 1795 - 1820 or later? 2. Can anyone document the parents of Mary Ann Campbell and Enos Campbell? They would probably have been born in the 1750's. I have never seen documentation of Mary Ann's brother's given name, but the relationship is proved by affidavit taken from Amos Kirkpatrick, third child of Robert Kirkpatrick and Mary Ann Campbell, on 3 July 1856 in which he identifies the children of Enos (not named specifically) and Ellen and says that the father of one of the children and Amos' mother were brother and sister. There is a marriage bond for daughter _Polly Campbell_ to _Charles Dyer_ in Green County, KY on 17 July 1798. Other children of Enos and Ellen Campbell are said to be Thomas Campbell, Nancy Campbell Jennings, Elizabeth Campbell Sanders, Abigail Campbell Lincoln and Peggy Campbell. Enos and his sister Mary Ann are said by some to be the children of Thomas Campbell, wife unknown. John Morrel
