Case of BAIRD vs BRENTS: Jury seated: Havilah CRUMP, Samuel SUGG, David LEECH, Geo BARNES, John WALLACE, Simon McNEEL, Danl. McNEEL, John McNEEL, Saml. MEANS, Henry YOUNGBLOOD, John CAMPBELL, Joseph CAMPBELL. Verdice for the plaintiff in the sum of 74 lbs, 10 shillings, 8 1/2 pence in damages and judgement. Case: GILLISPIE vs MADISON. Same jury to inquire; verdict for plaintiff for 12 lbs, 10 shillings in damages and judgement. John KING vs John PHELPS. Jury: John ANDERSON, John RAY, Danl WALKER, Sneed DAVIS, David WALLACE, Geo MARTIN, John STEEL, John LOGSDON, Robt KELLY, Will WINKFIELD, Rollins ROGERS and Geo CHAPMAN. Verdict for plaintiff for 60 pounds. THURMAN vs TINSLEY remanded to the rules. SUGG vs SHAW, case continued. Adjourned. Burwell JACKSON, Clerk. Thursday, 14 Apr 1798. Examination of William GOODSON charged with ___ (listed but not shown here or it would not be approved to use the word!). Present: Burwell JACKSON and John SHANNON. The prisoner being led to the bar in the custody of the sheriff and is being demanded of him whether he is guilty, whereupon sundry witnesses (not listed) ... heard in his defense. It is the opinion of the court that he is not guilty of the charge and that he be discharged. Court dissolved; Burwell JACKSON, Clerk.
