For those of you who have been on these lists for some time, you will remember that I am a devoted fan of an English author, Steve Robinson. Many of you have purchased his books on my recommendation and not been disappointed. Mr. Robinson, with whom I correspond, began his writing when he was searching for his own father, a soldier in WWII who was last heard of in CA. He knew nothing of genealogy but began learning it and thankfully, due to one of the readers of his first book, located his father. During his search, Mr. Robinson began a new career as an author and wrote his first book, "In The Blood" which centered around a detective from America, Jonathan Tate, who goes to England on a case. The story involved detective work, humor, suspense and genealogy. His second book followed, "To the Grave" (my favorite) which involved the same detective back in England and his quests there - a thriller. His third book was "The Last Queen of England". His newest book is about to be released. Amazon.com signed him as one of their authors due to the reviews on the above books. "The Lost Empress" will be released in a couple of weeks and good old Jonathan Tate is off for more adventures in England. Tate is not a suave, handsome detective, but somewhat of an overweight gentleman, a bachelor, who really doesn't like to fly. This book is said to include even more genealogy trails. A video about Steve is found at: <http://www.steve-robinson.me>http://www.steve-robinson.me Now, as a disclaimer, I receive NO money or anything from plugging Steve. I just love adventure stories, detective sleuthing and genealogy. We have corresponded back and forth since his 2nd book; he is a charming "chap" with a lovely wife who is his harshest critic. If you like good stories with genealogy tossed in, you'll love his books. Each book is a separate tale but Jonathan Tate is the main character in all and a few other characters continue. A great read!
