    3. Does anyone have details on the Roots in the Cave weekend. I was told it was going to be Nov 7 & 8 but no other details were available.

You can find out at Roots in the Cave, November 7-8, 2014, when families gather to share memories of their communities that once graced the hills and hollows –and caves –of what is now a national park. "Roots in the Cave was first presented in the park in 2003 as a joint effort by the Mammoth Cave Hotel and the park," said Superintendent Sarah Craighead. "It has continued each year, always with good attendance and great interest. Local historians often bring new information to light. This year the focus is the Lee family, and Dan Lee will be here to provide his first-person perspective." The schedule follows: Friday, November 7, 2014 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – Dig For Your Roots (Rotunda Room, Mammoth Cave Hotel) Share genealogical information and learn family histories and stories by talking with experts and the descendants. 7:00 p.m. – Panel Discussion – Focus on the Lee Family (Rotunda Room, Mammoth Cave Hotel) The Lee Family and their history within the Mammoth Cave area. Participants on the panel include Norman Warnell, Dan Lee, and Lewis Cutliff. Saturday, November 8, 2014 9:00 a.m. – Hike to Holton Cemetery (meet at Mammoth Cave Hotel) Join a ranger for a 3-mile, 3-hour hike to a historic cemetery on Flint Ridge. (Difficulty: Moderate) 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Dig For Your Roots (Rotunda Room, Mammoth Cave Hotel) 2:00 p.m. – The Lee Landscape (meet at Mammoth Cave Hotel) Caravan in your personal vehicle to significant areas where the Lee Family made their mark on the landscape: the former site of the Home-Like Inn; the entrance to Long (Grand Avenue) Cave; and the Mammoth Cave Baptist Church Cemetery. Some walking required. (Three walks–two Easy, one Moderate) 7:00 p.m. – The Lee Family of Mammoth Cave (Rotunda Room, Mammoth Cave Hotel) Join Park Ranger David Kem for an illustrated program detailing the many contributions and discoveries of the Lee Family in Mammoth Cave.
