Plaintiff: L G Hagan Defendant: Martha Hagan Date: 6 Dec 1888 File No. 74 Couple had married in Monroe Co on 10 Apr 1879; both still lived in the county and had lived here for at least 10 years previous to this action. The date of their separation was left blank but it had been more than 5 years since they had lived together. They separated in Monroe Co. L G Hagan prays for a divorce from Martha Hagan and to be restored to the privileges and immunities of a single and unmarried man. His attorney was attorney for plaintiff. Deposition was taken of David B. Hagan on 11 Dec 1888; he lived in Monroe Co, age 46 and had been a life-long resident. He had been acquainted with the plaintiff all his life; more than 20 years. The Defendant also lived in the county and he lived within two miles ten years ago; was not at the wedding. It was generally reported among their friends and neighbors that they were married; they had been separated about 7-8 years. Deposition of J F Emmert taken at the same time. 36 years old, lived in Tompkinsville. Knew both parties; has known them all his life. Did not see them married but saw them together frequently and they were living as husband and wife. Deponent had been living in Tompkinsville about 4 years; they were already separated when he moved to town; had lived about 5 miles from them when they parted. End of file - no disposition shown.
