It is with such deep sadness that I've learned that Joy Lyons passed away this morning at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. If you didn't know Joy, you missed a blessing. She had been associated for many years with Mammoth Cave; a frequent speaker for our historical society, a go-getter in the purchase and continuing preservation efforts of Bell's Tavern in Park City. From the first time I met Joy after moving here 25 years ago, we have shared information - the love of history and genealogy. She lost her battle against cancer as yet a young woman; she fought bravely to the end. For those of you who knew Joy - you knew joy. I have no details at the present time. Please say a prayer for her husband David (just left office as Mayor of Park City) and their two daughters.
