Just send your query or reply to: [email protected] My tip for today is in reference to the old indexes found in the County Clerk's office (and Circuit also). Many of these over-sized and extremely heavy old books have an original index prepared by the clerk. Remember that the only name indexed is the major party involved. As an example: In the probate records, the only name indexed is likely the name of the deceased. But, in looking at the actual file recorded in that book, you will find the name of the administrator/executor, the commissioners appointed to sell the estate, the names of family and friends who bought items from the sale, etc. See you tomorrow!
