I'm looking for the father of James MATKIN (sometimes shown as James MADKIN), b. 1796 - 1798 in either VA or KY, died between March and May of 1871 in Edmonson County, married to Mary Ann Chastain (daughter of John Chastain and Elizabeth Clark). In 1820 I find James and family living in Warren County, KY and by the mid 1830s with the change of the borders between Barren/Warren/Edmonson Counties, he was show in Edmonson County until he died. I suspect that James was the son of Daniel Matkin (b. 1766 - 1784) and who lived in Warren County in the early 1800s. I also suspect that James had a brother (also named Daniel Matkin) who is also found in Edmonson Co., KY. He was married to Martha Moore and they moved to Macon Co., MO sometimes in 1850 as he is shown in the 1850 Census in both Warren County, KY and in Macon Co., MO. James and the younger Daniel had several property transfers around 1850. I have a lot of information on James Matkin and his family and will be glad to share with anyone.
