This Indenture made and entered into this 28th day of January 1847 between Joseph Read Executor of William Pedigo decd. of the one part & Chapman Mann of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Joseph Read as Exr. as aforesaid for and in consideration of the Sum of two hundred eighty one dollars & 70 cts in hand paid, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold and by these doth bargain grant sell and convey unto the said Chapman Mann his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred nine & one half acres more or less situate lying & being in Barren County on the waters of the white oak creek.& bounded as follows, to wit, Beginning at chestnut in James POLSTON's line & corner to Thomas BARRETT (Barnett?) thence W17 poles to a small black walnut white walnut & black gum pointers thence S20 poles to a stake in Helton's field thence W17 poles to a white oak James Polston & W H DEPPs corner the same course continued 245 poles to a black oak Depps corner thence N38 poles to a stake Depps corner thence with Depps line S20 poles thence N30 poles to a stake in Pedigo field thence W50 poles to a walnut stump in the field of the sd Decd now Ed Cummings Depp corner thence N17 E110 poles to a red oak on the South side of the Glasgo & Edmonton road thence with the road N70E9 poles to two post oaks thence N32 poles thence E28 poles to Peter HAYS line thence with his line S230 poles to his corner at the road thence with the road S88 1/2E50 poles to a rock in the middle of the road thence S169 poles to the beginning, being a tract of land Jesse Pedigo purchased of sd Exr at the sale of the Deceast & the right assigned from Sd purchased to Chapman Mann which assignment is sealed to this and, To have & to hold to the said Chapman Mann his heirs and assigns forever & the said Joseph Read as Executor as aforesaid doth warrant and fodrever defend the right & title of said land against the claims of all persons whatsoever.
