This indenture made and entered into this November 28th 1873 between H L GROSS and Elizabeth his wife of Barren County KY parties of the first part and P. B. NICKOLS of County and state aforesaid the party of the second part. Witnesseth that the parties of the first part for and in Consideration of the sum one hundred & forty one dollars & 40 cts Cash in hand paid receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Have this day granted bargained sold and Conveyed and by these presents do grant bargain sell and Convey unto the party of the Second part a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being on the Waters of Fallen Timber Creek in County and State aforesaid about 5 Miles South East of Glasgow. Containing eighteen acres and bounded as follows ... metes and bounds given, no names shown... Also one other tract of land Containing two acres lying South of and near Said Nickols in County and State aforesaid and described as follows viz.: metes & bounds, no named or specific location shown. To have and to hold the Said described two tracts of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said grantee his heirs and assigns forever the grantors covenating that they will forever warrant and defend the title of the property hereby Conveyed to be free from the claim or Claims of any and all persons whatsoever.
