For and in consideration of $100 in hand paid I do hereby convey to Joseph LYEN the 2 tracts of land conveyed to me by H. P. CURD by deed bearing date the 12th day of September 1842 and duly recorded in the Clerks office of the Barren County County [sic - Court]. I do hereby release and quit claim to said Lyen of all title vested in me by said deed from Curd, but it is expressly understood that I am not to be liable or responsible for the title.
