This Indenture made & Entered into this 9th day of December 1852 by and between David RICHARDSON & Jos S. MOSS, both of Barren County Kentucky, witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred dollars fifty Dollars of which is in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowle3dged & said Moss note for the other fifty due in 12 months from this date, the said Richardson has bargained & sold & by these presents bargain sells alines and conveys unto said Moss a certain tract or parcel of Land Lying & being in said County of Barren on the waters of Beaver Creek (line of writing unreadable due to crease in paper) .. believe it to say the same land conveyed by Elizabeth Richardson, Executrix of George Richardson (rest readable) decd. on the 27th April 1849 to said David Richardson & of record in the clerk's office of the Barren County Court Clerks office Deed Book S, Page 389 and bounded as follows, towit Beginning at John SUMMERS (possibly SIMMONS), South west corner a stake thence E 85 poles to a stake thence S5 E 100 poles to a post Oak on or near CROGHANS line, thence with the same N7? -- 88 poles to his corner a chestnut, thence with another of his lines S 12 W 60 poles to another of his corners a white oak, hickory and black oak on the Bank of the Barren fork, thence N57W30 poles to a black Oak & White Oak Richard SMITHs corner, thence with his Line N136 poles to a small chestnut, thence N85E28 poles to 2 small red Oaks & sasafrass in Simmons? line thence with the same S 18 poles to the Beginning: Containing 70 acres more or less. To have & to hold the said tract of Land unto said Moss his heirs &c forever. And the said David Richardson covenants to forever warrant & defend the title to said tract of Land unto said Moss his heirs & assigns, forever to be free from the claim or claims of myself & all who may other ___ forever.
