I wanted to let you know of the death of Donald Edwin Hendley of Glasgow, husband of one of our listers, Linda, who has been a friend from even before they settled in Glasgow. I want to extend my heartfelt condolences; Linda has done much behind the scene to provide photographs for Ray Green's website of cemetery photos and much more. Donald was 76 and died Tuesday, 10 Jan at home. He was a native of Plainfield IN; son of the late Berlin Holmes Hendley and Lettie Delmas Claspell Hendley, both of whom were Barren and Monroe Co natives. He was a tool and die engineer, having worked at Staken in Orange, VA and was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving aboard the USS Oriskany. He is survived by his wife Linda; a son, Randy; a daughter, Marci; five grandchildren, five sisters - Edith, Ruth, Priscilla, Patty and Sarah; and four great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death also by five brothers and two sisters. The family chose cremation and a private burial will be at the Hendley Cemetery at Fountain Run at a later date. Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow was in charge of arrangements. Again, our deepest sympathy to you Linda, you will be in our thoughts and prayers.
