I don't fund raise on this list but one of our listers, Judye Hafling, wrote me of a worthy project going on in Metcalfe Co. She is a very active member of their historical society there and someone I've known for many years. Judye noted: " that the Metcalfe Co Historical Society is moving into our fund raising for the Old County Jail. We have just completed a 2013 Calendar with old pictures selling for $10. We are still trying to get old documents etc. removed from the jail so we can proceed with restoration. We are still "fighting the fight" of being allowed to protect and preserve documents over seventy years old and place them all together hopefully in the old jail." As a diehard advocate of saving these old documents, I not only wish them well but hope that funds can be raised to save them.
