I've explained this in the past but a refresher course might be called for. In yesterday's post on Pioneer Cemetery the term was used many times that a lady was the consort of so and so. Not to fear; this couple was legally married! Terms change over the years. Here is the definition again: If Mary was the consort of John - she died, he was alive. If Mary was the relict of John - she died; he had predeceased her. Just old terms that we don't use today!
