I've finished scanning the 1857 Barren Co marriages. This will be the last done until after Memorial Day as the genealogy room is being used for absentee voting now at the County Clerk's office. This year was tough; many of the documents were torn or faded. The Clerk is still using this blue paper and the ink just didn't last as long. Thus, I had to scan them darker to bring out the handwriting. There were 139 marriages this year plus one marriage that apparently didn't happen as the license was not filled out. The same information is shown as in previous years. If you would like to see a copy of the surnames who married in 1857, write me privately and I will forward it. They will be shown like: Jones-Smith, no first names. I'll be away from the computer for most of the rest of the morning, but will reply when I can later today.
