    1. A Brief History of Cave City - Part 6
    2. Dean Hunt
    3. (Friends, I inadvertantly left out a paragraph in Part 5. This should have been between "This later building was remodled in 1925." and "Mr. Elkanah Dickey planted the trees in the Baptist Church yard.") Rev. N. G. Terry was for many years pastor of this church and was its pastor when the present brick building was erected. So strong and effective was Rev. Terry's leadership while in this pastorate that his influence is still a vital force in the church. He resigned here late in 1893 and went to the Glasgow Baptist Church early in 1894. 3. Ok gang; this will be my last post until hopefully just Monday; surely by then I'll be able to focus again!! I've been following orders and have started all the eye drops, the fasting starting tonight, etc. etc. Whoope! Bill Utterback is now officially in charge of the lists .. I'm not anticipating any problems with the list at all; everything pretty well goes smoothy here for which I'm very thankful! Bill is familiar with the lists and with rootsweb so will step in if there is a problem. Since he's a busy guy, trusting that everything keeps purring! Lastly, I want to thank all of you have written me on the list and privately. I might have time to acknowledge some msgs yet today; my daughter did arrive yesterday and will be taking over the household/animal chores for me and my other daughter will be coming in tomorrow morning. I'll be on my own after Friday afternoon so have some groceries to lay in that's easy to fix!!! Your kindness to me has been outstanding - I kinow this is a common-place surgery that happens to all of us who find ourselves aging - I was a mere "child" when I started these lists way back before rootsweb was in existence. Many of you have been with me since day one and your dedication means more to me that you'll ever know. To Tom - lawyer? Well, that wasn't in my mind when I was a young student in school ... I wanted to be either an archaeologist or astronomer. Computers in the home hadn't been invented yet! My career path has taken me from being a secretary, working in two police departments (which I loved!), being a teacher, becoming a principal, and being a programmer analyst for the federal government. But - since 1970, my love has been genealogy and with the advent of the home computer - it really took off. I still have the heart of a teacher and you make it so easy for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'll TRY to let my dau Kris send out a msg tomorrow afternoon sometime we get home to let you know that I'm still perking! I'll see you as soon as I can! I cherish you all! 1. what if???
    2. Friends ,have you ever stopped and pondered how lucky we are that Sandi Gorin chose to eke out a living and enrich all our lives by going into genealogy. The long tedious hours of research and searching dusty old records in dark and damp and sometimes vermin infested environments. And then trying to sort it all out and present it in a form that most of us can understand. And the many thousands of times that her fingers have pounded the keys on a word processor. Just think on it. She could have chosen to be an attorney, and ,I know with her zeal and work ethic, she would have been a darn good one. Possibly among the top few good ones in the country. And of course the pay would have been so much more for a heck of a lot less work, fact is she probably could have had a top flight law firm and all the appointments that go with it. Let's all thank our lucky stars and offer up a prayer for her to regain her good health and be able to get back full time to what she dearly loves. To you SANDI , the very best, dear friend, . your friend, Tom Pennington, Muncie, Indiana.

    3. Hello Friends, I have sent Part 5 of A Brief History of Cave City to the list four times now. Not one of them has come back to me, and as far as I can tell, gone to no one else either. As our "List Mama" is out of pocket, there is not much I can do about the series until the problem goes away. So........I don't plan to make further posts until later. I do appologize to all for the confusion and delay. M. Dean Hunt Louisville, KY
