    1. Re: [SCKY] SOUTH-CENTRAL-KENTUCKY Digest, Vol 1, Issue 7- Mary Pace's slaves
    2. Joyce Stover
    3. I am just now getting caught up on reading, due to having recent surgery. I am intrigued as to which Thomas N. Pace was married to. Was Mary the wife of the Thomas N. Pace, born 1801, died 1893, who was married to sisters Docia Williams and Mary Williams? Or was she the wife of Thomas N. Pace, born 1811, died 1880, who married Mary Anderson? Or was it a different Thomas N. Pace that I don't have in my data base? Any ideas? Thanks! 1. [SCKY] IN CLOSING MONDAY, 2 OCT 2006 - PUZZLER
    2. Sandi Gorin
    3. We slid right into Oct now with only 3 months to go in 2006, mercy! This will end the 10th year that I've been posting for rootsweb too, plus about 3 yrs before that with maiser. A lot of data over the years which I hope has helped. Charlie has posted the puzzler for the week; hope you enjoy this one! If you want to give it a try, click on the URL in my signature line called gensoup and give it a try. For the next 2 weeks I am going to be quieter on the list (except my daily posts). On Oct 14th I will be speaking at the joint session of the KY Historical Society and KY Genealogical Society in Frankfort KY on the topic of genealogical publishing. I am getting prepared for that plus the Green Co Book Fair the first Sat in November. The KY Historical Society has ordered a huge amount of my books and I am working on that also, plus a Barren Co Cemetery Board meeting, etc. etc. So, I'm keeping busy! I wish you a great week and I'll see you tomorrow with Monroe Co newspaper tidbits. 1. [SCKY] William Siddens of Barren/Allen counties
    2. Duane/Rita Lamers
    3. William Siddens was born in the 1770s, perhaps near Philadelphia. He married Rachel Stockton, eventually settled in Barren, perhaps in the part that later became Allen, and died in 1856. It is quite possible, even probable, that William is the brother of James Siddens. James came with his family to Barren early in the 1800s, staying until c 1825, at which time he lost his property for taxes and he moved to Indiana. I am seeking information about the ancestry of William. Note: some sources give William's dob as 01 April 1777. This is incorrect, for it is the dob of James, as found on James's headstone in Indiana. Duane Lamers, Troy, Michigan --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. 3. Add two h's and "Wic" probably simply means "which". " I will that no part of my estate real or personal shall be sold but kept together in the possession of my beloved wife Jane McIntire for the support and maintenance of her and my children out of which also i will that all of my children, to wit, Ann McIntire, Elizabeth..." I notice that the "h" was also omitted from the word "choice..." and in one place from the word "heirs". 1. [SCKY] Harrison, Reagan, Ragan families of South Central Kentucky
    2. John
    3. I have assembled some information that is suggestive of a relationship between three South Central Kentucky and Jackson County Tennessee families but I need further information to prove the relationships. I would appreciate help from anyone familiar with the Kentucky Reagan, Ragan and Harrison families. There is a marriage bond from Barren County, KY dated June 13, 1808 for the marriage of a William Morrel and Betsey Regin or Rigin. The bondsman is Jesse Harrison. [Both the Morrel and Harrison signatures are extremely clear.] John Mulkey married this couple on June 14, 1808. This places the marriage in extreme southern Barren County, now Tompkinsville in Monroe County where Mulkey's church was located. The William Morrel is likely the William Morrel, a widower, who moved to northern Jackson County, Tennessee sometime before 1813. He was born in Virginia between 1750 and 1754. There is an Elizabeth Harrison Ragan or Reagan the widow of Daniel Reagan who died in 1805 in Christian County. She was born in 1767. Elizabeth and Daniel were married in Greene County, Tennessee on June 23, 1788, as was a Jesse Harrison (to Mary Gist). A Nehemiah Cravens Reagan is listed in the 1820 Jackson County, Tennessee census. There are undocumented sources on line that say he was the son of Daniel Reagan and Elizabeth Harrison. A Jessee Harrison appears on the Barren County, Kentucky 1810 census. In addition, a Jesse Ragan was in Bailey Butler’s Jackson County, Tennessee militia company in 1813-1814. The circumstantial evidence seems strong that all of these people are related but just how is not clear. Specifically, these pieces of information suggest the possibility that the Betsey Regin or Rigin who married William Morrel in 1808 was Elizabeth Ragan or Reagan, the widow of Daniel and that Jesse Harrison who signed the marriage bond might have been Elizabeth's relative -- perhaps a brother. Is anyone enough of a family expert on the early Barren County Harrisons to confirm any of this? Many thanks, John John Newton Morrel morcor@comcast.net

My daughter Ann McIntire having the possession of a sorrell mare called munro if she pleases to take her she is to do so but not the colt she is now with, which mare is to be valued and Ann to amount to the estate for so much received on her part of my estate. 3. Can any of you help on this query? If you can, I'd appreciate it and you'll need to write directly to the individual as they are not on these lists. Thanks! Sandi From: Duane/Rita Lamers <kglamers@yahoo.com> Subject: Siddens family My ancestors James Siddens and wife Sarah Graves moved to Indiana from Barren (Allen) about 1825. I am trying to do more research on the Siddens line and cannot get past James's birth in 1777. I believe he had brothers William and Joseph. The three allegedly are sons of William and Jeanne Carr Siddons of Philadelphia, married in 1766, but I have seen no documentation to prove this connection. If you have any information on William or Joseph, I would be interested in hearing from you.
