MORRIS ------x------ We regret to announce the death which took place at the Sanitorium yesterday, of Mr. J.B. MORRIS at the age of 61. Deceased was a very well-known and highly esteemed resident of the City and was at one time connected with the editorial staff of the "Witness." He acted as "Witness" war correspondent in the Boer War. The funeral will take place this afternoon. ------x------ MRS. VIDA J. ROXBURGH ------x------ By the death of Mrs. Vida J. ROXBURGH, wife of J.W. ROXBURGH, which took place on Friday evening last, a very much beloved an charming personality has been removed. The youngest daughter of Mrs. HUTCHINSON, of 337, Bulwer Street, Mrs. ROXBURGH was known and loved by a very wide circle of friends in the City, and her untimely death at the age of 29, is deeply regretted. Prior to her marriage she was engaged for several years at the Telephone Exchange in Maritzburg, and since has resided at Mount Ngwibi, and latterly at Vryheid. Last June she suffered from a severe attack of gastric influenza, from which she never thoroughly recovered until some three weeks ago she came to stay with her mother in the City. On Sunday, the 3rd of December, her health grew worse, and she was removed to the hospital in a very weak condition. At first she appeared to improve, but on Friday last her condition gave cause for grave anxiety, and her husband was summoned to the bedside. Mrs. ROXBURGH passed away peacefully at eight o'clock on Friday evening. She leaves a little son of three, in addition to her husband and mother to mourn an irreparable loss. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon, proceeding to the Church of England Cemetery, and attended by many relatives and friends of the deceased lady.
