Francis TENNANT was working under the Convict Stations Department in East London as a 1st Class Sub-Overseer, His first appointment date was Jan 22 1885 and he was appointed to his present post on Jan 1 1892. His salary was 106 pounds per annum and his allowances were quarters and rations. Advocate Hercule Tennant was on the CClist with my grandfather Edgar Jackson in 1886 when in conjunction they published a revised edition of the stature law of the Cape. There has to be some relationship I imagine. good to hear from you.
