This is not strictly genealogical.  However it is based on genealogical research including material dug up from the National Archives of South Africa. It is about a novel that I have just published: "ROGUE OF ROUUXVILLE". It is set in the OFS during the 1870s and concerns the adventures of Jakob Klein (name changed from the original person, one of my relatives, who really existed). Klein is an immigrant from Bavaria who sets up shop in Rouxville. Struggling to support a growing family, his business ethics are far from straightforward. He ends up in jail having lost his home. His family have fled from Rouxville.  The novel describes how he got into trouble and what happened after that.
