I am compiling a family tree and am having difficulty tracing back further than my maternal grandparents who were William Henry Richard du Preez born 23/05/1891 died 01/06/1960 and Dinah Dorothea du Preez -born Koekemoer - 19/03/1897 died 07/01/1957. Both laid to rest in North End Cemetary in Port Elizabeth and I have managed to get pictures if their gravestones from a family member who got them off a website. William Henry Richard du Preez's parents were John (Johan??) Hercule du Preez from ??? & Sara Phillips of Bristol UK and they were married in Durbanville Cape Town. I am trying to trace their details. They had 4 sons and 1 daughter that we know of William, Eddie (?Edward) Johnie (?John) Alfie (?Alfred) and Edie (?Edith) and possibly another 2 sibblings. we have unconfirmed information that William was an East Cape Boxer and was either Fly or Featherweight Champion in 1911. Dinah Dorothea du Preez's parents were ?? Koekemoer an immagrant from Holland, who was a Warder at a prison in Graff Rienett and a Miss Green who was Irish. I am trying to trace their details. We know of 4 daughters, Dinah, Suzie (?Susanna/?Susarah) Sannie & Hannah and possibly other sublings. Sannie was a spinster and Suzie was married to a Maarsdorp and a Van Heeren.
