    3. Hi Sybil, eGGSA have some photos of gravestones at Nylstroom. http://www.eggsa.org/library/main.php?g2_itemId=97128&g2_page=6 is the link. Good luck, Rob -----Original Message----- From: south-africa-eastern-cape-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:south-africa-eastern-cape-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of sybil banisterjones Sent: 31 December 2012 04:17 PM To: SOUTH-AFRICA-EASTERN-CAPE Subject: [ZA-EC] NYLSTROOM Good afternoon Listers A very happy New Year to you all and especially to all the Genies that take so much time doing transcriptions for all of us. We really appreciate their hard work. Does anyone know whether there were any army or specifically air force bases in Nylstroom from about 1917 until the end of the war. Or were there perhaps any big organisations there where returning soldiers could be employed, like for instance a big Railways Depot? My grandmother lived there when her youngest son was born and I cant for the life of me think why she particularly lived there. It was at this time that my grandfather returned from the war and shortly after this, left her and we never heard of him again. She later lived in Durban until she died.Is there a cemetery in Nylstroom? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
