Now I know why my Aunt Dolly (actually my mother's 1/2 aunt) was called Thelia Mary.....by my great grandmother's second husband John Elias LEWIS (I was sent his death details by Jenn LLOYD in about 2003).... The name isn't Thalia but Thelia. The name Flora also includes my grandmother whose name was Chloris. In the Greek Myth represented in the painting 'le Primavera' (spelling may be incorrect) by Botticelli the figure on the right of the painting is the nymph Chloris with the dark god Zephyr; she is then turned into the figure in the centre of the painting which is of the goddess Flora.....My great grandfather was a classicist! Jenn then tracked down another of the family members I had missing, Richard Stanger TAINTON born 19 August 1893 died unknown christened at Keiskama Hoek on the same day as my grandmother who was 3 years old at the time. I still can't fathom out why my grandmother said she was one of 10 when so far I have only 8 siblings in the family....perhaps there are two more to find!
