TYSON. Educ. Grahamstown, and Dale College, King Williamstown. Joined the service of the Bank of Africa in 1881, and resigned after 17 years’ service. Started business as an Accountant in Kimberley, 1898. In Dec., 1904 he was appointed Mayor, and again in 1905. During his Mayoralty he represented Kimberley at the farewell banquet given to Lord Milner, and he also received in 1905, as Kimberley’s first citizen, the Governor, Sir W. HELY-HUTCHINSON, and in 1906 His Grace the Duke of Connaught. During the Siege of Kimberley he was appointed Controller of Food Supplies Staff. Add., Kimberley. Mem. Kimberley Club.
