    1. [ZA-EC] TEE: Irene Myrtle
    2. The Revd Fr Brian Tee
    3. I have for many years being trying to establish the parentage of June Myrtle TEE whose burial is recorded in the registers of St Katherine's, Uitenhage, on 27 January 1910, aged 11 months, giving a birth date of February 1909. I was delighted when the registration of the Civil Deaths for the Cape were made available online as I hoped that this would, at least, include the name of her father. Unfortunately, this was not to be. What I did establish, however, is that her correct name was Irene Myrtle Tee (it would seem that her first name was misread, which is easily done) and that her parents were resident at Philpot Street, Uitenhage, at the time of her death. According to the powers-that-be, there is no record of her birth being registered (but then, they also informed me that a death certificate could not be traced). Any suggestions as to where I go from here would be most appreciated. Kind regards, Brian+.

    3. HI Brian, I know most of the TEE family chose St Katherine's and were buried mostly in Uitenhage. I had also read earlier emails and know that Inez Myrtle TEE (1897-1943)was probably too young to have been the mother(Age 12?) Brian you have probably noticed this anyway: 5 children died quite close to each other none had gravestones.. so chances are there might be a brother and sister together here? I don't know anything about this family but you may have the names of parents of these other children? 1)TEE Charles Richard age 4m buried 16.02.1907 Child 2) TEE Elizabeth Magdalena age 3 2 m buried 09.07.1910 3)TEE Irene Myrtle 11m buried 27.01.1910 Child 4)TEE Ruth Dorothy buried 11.11.1897 Child, 1y7m 5)TEE Sarah Dorothy 10m 31.12.1905 Child I also know that the TEE married into the ESTMENT line. Viva ESTMENT*1893...have you ruled her out? She would have been almost 17? I was wondering if you had looked at the "Irene" naming pattern that came through form the ESTMENT line(Irene Maude ESTMENT* 1890 who married Archibald G CURRIN named her daughter "Irene" and then Irene CURRIN in turn named her daughter Irene Shirley CURRIN. William James ESTMENT* 1850 names his daughter Una Irene. And a few more that have come down through the descendent lines. I cant find the Myrtle pattern and I know the names may be random but perhaps worthwhile looking at?
