Our family history has it that David Reed met Leonora Milsom Smith/ Thompson in Cape Town and persuaded her to travel to Beira or Lourenco Marques where he fetched her to live in what is now Kwe Kwe in the then Southern Rhodesia. While on the subject. L.M. Smith said that she married a Mr Thompson in England on 26 May 1896 but I have not been able to find any record of this marriage. I think that it might have been a "shotgun marriage" in a registry office or something like that. Thanks for your very prompt reply David
