Dear Listers Can anyone please help me with the following I am looking for the parents and siblings of Archibald Charles FISHER. This is the only information I have on him and his family. Archibald Charles FISHER died on 1 January 1954. Archibald married Violet May OPENSHAW, daughter of William OPENSHAW and Susan WHITEHORN. Violet was born on 11 December 1881 in East London, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. and died on 4 October 1974 in East London, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. aged 92. They had five children: Charles Edward, Lawrence Archibald, Alma May, Dorothy Violet and Leslie Percival. a1b1-Charles Edward FISHER. Charles married Phyllis Gladys DESSIME, daughter of Unknown and Unknown, They had four children: Maureen, Daphne Joy, Brian Charles and Audrey Jean. a1b2-Lawrence Archibald FISHER was born on 28 February 1913 in East London, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. and died on 9 June 1976 in Aliwal North, Orange Free State. aged 63. Lawrence married Iris Stella CROUT, daughter of Willliam Ambrose CROUT and Amelia Jane HAW, on 1 September 1936 in Wesleyan Methodist Church, Thaba N'chu, by Rev. Greenwood . Iris was born on 20 February 1912 in Thaba Nchu, Orange Free State, South Africa., was baptised on 13 May 1912 in 'Mount Pleasant', Thaba N'chu, Orange Free State by Rev. J.W. Househam., and died on 21 July 1975 in East London, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa aged 63. They had no children. Marriage Notes: ~ At the time of their marriage he was working as a Dredge in East London and she was living in Tweespruit, Orange Free State. Witnesses at the wedding were Wreaford Richard Charles Openshaw (my grandmothers brother) and Dorothy Violet Fisher. Wreafords mom was a FISHER and I believe she could have been the sister of Archibald Charles FISHER! (My huge brickwall) a1b3-Alma May FISHER. Alma married someone BOWDEN. a1b4-Dorothy Violet FISHER was born on 14 April 1918 in East London, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. and was baptised on 18 April 1918 in St. Peters Church, East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Dorothy married someone BARTON. a1b5-Leslie Percival FISHER was born on 10 March 1920 in East London, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa.(10) and was baptised on 11 April 1920 in St. Peters Church, East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa. Any information would be great and maybe my brickwall shall BE TUMBLING DOWN. Now I have discovered that my Great Grandfather Richard Charles Openshaw who's wife I am searching for was the witness at Archibald Charles FISHER and Violet May OPENSHAW (his younger sister's) wedding.
