Hi Alison, Thanks for thinking of me, but my husband does not have any STANTON kin in South Africa. Our surname was originally STANKOVICH, and his grandparents emigrated from Lithuania to the U.S. in the early 20th century. The name was changed to STANTON during WWII. I guess they wanted to sound more "American". His South African grandmother was a THOMAS. Her parents were James Percy and Martha Ann (nee WEBB) THOMAS. The Webber family married into them in the same generation, three times -two Webber brothers married two Stanton sisters and one sister Naomi married a Webber too - sorry I don't have the names with me at work but I can give you if you want to cross reference. My dad has passed away so all I have are his written notes - no annoying as I now have so many questions to ask him! All the best Alison Dicks (nee Webber)
